WELCOME to the website of the LIBRARY OF AMERICAN BROADCASTING FOUNDATION. In partnership with the University of Maryland, we operate the Library of American Broadcasting, located on the University’s main College Park, Maryland campus. The Library was founded in 1967 and began life in 1972 at its first home in the headquarters building of the National Association of Broadcasters in Washington, DC. In 1994, we moved to new and larger quarters on the University of Maryland campus. With more than 1,000 oral histories, 200,000 photographs and numerous books, pamphlets, scripts, audio and video recordings and other materials, our Collection is widely recognized as the preeminent national repository for broadcast history, policy and tradition.
The LIBRARY OF AMERICAN BROADCASTING FOUNDATION is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation to which tax-deductible contributions may be made. For information on making a contribution, joining our FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY and receiving our AirWaves newsletter or just learning more about the Library, please contact:
